I woke up this morning with an itch… my burning flame 😉 to get another blog post done and share another insight about debt. Trying to decide the order of how I should share what I have learned in the last 10 years has been … challenging. My morning read inspired me; “The rich rule the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7
WOW! …”the borrower is a slave to the lender.” Can you put it any more clearer than that???
When we run out of money, no longer have resources to pay our debt, what will we pay with? Think about Egypt. Do you know or do you remember… What did THEY pay with? They paid with their FREEDOM! After Egyptians ran out of money, or anything else that they could barter with, they voluntarily GAVE UP THEIR FREEDOM!!! THEY ENSLAVED THEMSELVES in order to get the food and water they needed to sustain their lives.
The question I ask today is: Is debt good or bad? If “the borrower is a slave to the lender”, doesn’t it make ‘common sense’ for us to learn how to become the lender?
